You talk about turning in front of you !!! Do you pay attention to the turn signals and warning flashing lights that are on tractors , combines and other machines that have been on there for the last 35 yrs??? 99.99% of you DO NOT . Mine all work and I ALWAYS USE THEM , but 99.9% of the time when I am turning those following pay no attention to them and pass on the left , now if I wouldn't have stopped in my lane to let them pass do you know what a 3-4,000lb car would do against 25-30,000lbs of iron , you tell me . It's never the trucks , it's always cars , pickups , suvs etc . One time there were three vehicles behind me , I was turning left into my field , all three went around including the county sherrif's car , now if I went around him with his left signal on what do you think would have happened ?
I don't know the circumstances of the accident you talked about but I can tell you about all of mine . I don't want to cause an accident but some day when I'm in the wrong mood and driving like most of the idiots out there somebody might get the ditch!! .
I've been driving tractors around for 45 yrs , have had one minor accident , no damage to car , it cut back in front too soon , NO PASSING ZONE and I cut over and caught my cultivator on a guard rail . By the way I missed the car , was totally on my side of the road and if I wouldn't have turned over there would have been nice gashes all down the side of this car .
