JB, try some networking. Let your neighors or local farmers know you would like to help next spring and summer. You can pickup hay, and do what ever. That is the first key to getting in the door. The next step is to work harder than anyone else. Do what you are not expected to do. Go out of you way and do what ever it takes.

Case in point. I hated school, and still hate having to go to a training class. I was never very smart in the usual classes. Never made the A honor roll and still can't spell to well. Lucikly I had one thing going for me. I like to make people happy. I did some work for a communications company that they should have done and I ran a cable in 20 minutes that would have taken them a few hours and a lot of hassel. They hired me a month later. Almost 12 years later I got a job at another place where I didn't have to travel. Went from telephone/intercoms/nursecall/cctv to computer networks. For the last 10 years I have made what I think is way to much money for the amount of sweat I put into it. The most important book besides the Bible i have ever read is a book by Dale Carnege called How to Win Friends and Influence People. I truly believe it is the reason a Doctor friend of mine took me to Alaska on a 7 day guided fishing trip, all expenses paid except for about three meals. Other things from various people are 1 free toro lawn mower, 1 dewalt cordless drill, 1 dewalt cordless 24v skill saw, airline tickets to Florida to fish for tarpon and permit, countless tools and to many more things to count. My biggest grip is that teachers never taught me about motivation, but I figured it out on my own and now i make about double what the average teacher makes. (yeah they are underpaid).

I know this is a long post and I know most people will think i am tooting my own horn but do yourself a HUGE favor. Get the book and learn how to make people happy. When you help enough people get what they want then you will be able to get what you want.
