In your very first message you said you picked up the tractor. Looking it over that may have been a typo? Anyhow, it's a tough situation. Seems like both sides didn't quite get what they wanted. A lot of dealers really get jerked around & are left holding the bag too. So, if he got frustrated with you, I can see a little of his point. And, I see your point too. Something that would be fair is, whenever he sells off the tractor, or tractor parts, & gets what you were offering for it, he refunds your money. That way you minght have to wait a while to get it back, but he had to wait a while too to get paid, & his inventory was tied up too waiting for you. Just kind of a tough deal, Maybe you were a little late & he was a little fast, who should we blame? Probably best to make these transactions face to face - money down & waiting a month seems to give room for bad deals on both sides, as we see here over & over. The lesson of hard knocks. Saturday I was in a hurry to get the snow blower in the shed at dusk, & stepped into a very long rusty nail - almost came out the top of my foot. Talk about learning hard lessons. I'd rather have lost the $500 you did & not stepped on the %^&* nail.... Makes what's important a little clearer sometimes. --->Paul
