Flying G Sounds like a bad deal at first glance, BUT---------. Don't throw good money after bad by taking him to court. Without hard evidence it turns into "He said, I said", and no judge will hear the case. Did I miss something? You gave someone money for a tractor, but didn't get what you expected. Were there any papers describing the machine? Were there any pictures? Did you actually take posession? In most areas a deal between private parties is WYSIWYG!!! WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. If you went to pick it up & it wasn't what you expected, you should have cancelled the deal on the spot. Without evedence for back-up, it is a sad deal, but no remedy. Apparently it runs because you said it leaks antii-freeze & steering is bad. How are tires? Almost any tractor that runs at all is worth $500. Cut your losses. If too expensive to fix it up, part it out, get what you can, and chalk it up to the school of hard knocks. In the future, before handing over any cash, get things on paper. Make, model, serial number, accessories, etc. Anything that might pose a question.Take several photos, prefer with the seller in the photos, so he can't say you took photo of a different machine. Hope things go better on your next deal.
