Mike: I have a 2002 C2500HD set up that way. I pull a bumper hitch 17/3 dovetail. Loaded, I am dragging about 10,000 lb. It gets about 10-11 mpg, sometimes a little better. Like I told Guy, I don't want no more tractor or any less truck. If you're planning that much drag, I'd get more truck. If circumstances had been different, I would have gone for the diesel/Allison , but MORE $$$$. Good Luck. pb
