"Can this hobby support itself?" In a word, NO. Not if you are truly restoring and not buying something to fix up a little bit to resell. You can buy a $1500.00 Farmall M, JD A, etc, put $2000.00 in it quicker than a minute and when you are done, you have a nice M or A, but not a $3500.00 M or A. You have to do it for the love of it, the fun of it and the pride of it.
