Don't plan on making money. I have $3000 in my 42 Farmall H and it is worth $2500 tops IF I paint it yet too! I have made a few bucks by finding old tractors and selling them for people and charging commision. Of course that only works if you have the Internet and they don't. I have also made a few hundred by buying tractors at an auction sale where no one knows what they are worth and then reselling them. However, the tractors that I have worked on I have either lost money or barely broke even. I have so much in my H that I just have to keep it and use it, which doesn't bother me at all. It is as good as a new tractor, maybe better. That's why it is called a hobby, because you don't make money at it. Selling restored tractors doesn't work well either because a lot of people just enjoy the process of restoring, like me. I would never buy a restored tractor unless it was something I really really wanted (like a Super 99 Oliver with GM diesel). Others will have differing opinions, no guarantees, your mileage may vary, my $0.02 worth.
