OT- They got my mailbox - Again!

Got up this morning, happened to look out at the road in front of my house, noticed spin-out-marks in the gravel. Closer look showed that someone had applied a blunt object, probably a metal baseball bat to my mailbox, twice. Box is history! Wasn't more than a month ago some one was out of control for over 200 yards, ended up skidding into my front yard, destroying my mailbox stand. Suprisingly, the car suffered little damage, and skedaddled leaving only tracks across my yard. Stand was so bent up, that I had to put the posts (two) made of 2" sked 40 pipe under the tractor and use the down pressure of the 3pt hitch to straighten them. Then I had to use a 10# mall besides! In the last year, I've had THREE attacks on my maibox as well as the car incident. This is getting a little tiring. these guys are nothing but two bit domestic terrorists. If the cops ever catch them, they ought to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It is my policy to report every incident to the police, and demand to see an officer. Maybe if enough paper piles up on someone's desk, we'll get some enforcement up here on the north end of the county! Meanwhile, I keep a spare box in the barn, and buy them on sale!

My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
