Good advice. Get the manuals. Transmission should have gear lube. SAE 140 GL 1 is recommended. As for the engine, that has been debated many times on these forums. Do you know what was used in it previously? If it's been overhauled and cleaned out, any good grade DETERGENT motor oil, in a SAE 30 will work. I know some use 10W30, 10W40, or 15W40. They'll all work depending on the weather conditions and how hard you work it. On the other hand, if it hasn't been overhauled, and had used Non Detergent oil. DO NOT put detergent oil in it. It will break loose the sludge that has built up over the years, and clog oil passages. Hope this helps. Frank M.
