Here's the short version of my trip from hades in a U-Haul. A couple of years ago I helped my brother and sister in-law move to Oh. from Fla.. They rented a U-haul and were promised a '95 or newer with an automatic since the bro-in-law did'nt drive a stick. They got a '87, manual trans, with 110K on it, filthy dirty. Left Orlando around 5pm to go to Gainesville for the night. No AC. and the front end shook so bad my hands were numb from the vibrating steering wheel. The truck broke down several times. This is a list of everything that was repaired during the trip; Replaced Water pump (came apart at 65 mph.), radiator, both front tires, all belts (twice), alternator, transmission, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, windshield wiper arms, carrier bearing for drive shaft, spot mirror, and the alt. pulley. They also did an alignment, recharged the AC, and fixed a rub rail on the side of the truck that was sticking out. finally got to Columbus Oh. 7pm Fri. When the in-laws complained to corporate HQ they said it was their fault for taking the truck out in that condition!!!! 20/20 did a show on U-Haul several months later and there were several people killed driving U-hauls that should have never been on the road. Needless to say, but I will never do business with them and I advise everyone else to not to.
