I would agree that a tractor with a lower center of gravity will do better on hills. I have a IH 544 Utility gas that is 55 HP and also a 901 ford row crop and the 544 defiantly feels better on hills. Good brakes are also a must on hills as well as a roll bar and seat belts. Before purchasing a tractor make sure you can get a roll bar if it does not already have one. They are around $750 or so. Note: An IH Farmall is a tall tractor and the International Utility is shorter or lower to the ground. Parts are easy to get for IH, Ford, and JD.
