Actually some of the older Top links on some dearborn equipment weren't the turnbuckle style we normally see today. They were simply 2 flat pieces of steel slotted and bolted together, the slot was used to adjust the length, and there were holes in each end for the link pins. Is should be relatively easy to make one that style to the length you want.
