WHAT ENGINE DO YOU HAVE ?
What did you do when you first cranked it up after a year?
Is it same engine oil & filter it was set up with?

There are some steps to take to "pickle" engines for sitting, and there are some "re-start" steps for any engine which has sat up for more than a few months.

Are you driving it around with this "white exhaust"? I hope not. If not do this.

Drain oil, & refill 1/2 qt low with cheap oil. Pull out the spark plugs, and squirt about 1/2 oz. or less Marvel Mystery Oil in each plug hole, pour 4 oz in the crankcase, dribble another 1/2-3/4 oz down carb or throttle body.

Pull the coil center wire out, disabling coil. Either use a remote starter solenoid by-pass tool, or a helper in the truck to turn the engine over on the starter until oil pressure appears, STOP.

Replace the spark plugs fire the engine up, hold 1200 - 1500 rpms let drop off to idle raise to 1200 - 1500 a few times, & let idle. When it's idling, block air to radiator.

Place a cardboard, or something in front of radiator, while
keeping an eye on engine temperature.When temp. reaches the MAX HIGH TEMPERATURE in the safe operating range of guage, remove air block from the radiator and let temp normalize.

Once normalized,breathe engine a few times, 2000-2500 rpm & let off, repeat, repeat, repeat, a few times then shut it down. As soon as it is cool enough to work on drain the oil, remove the filter, and replace both with good oil & filter. Make sure engine has a 188 to 198 degree T-Stat in good operating order, and sufficient coolant.

If the usual problems, stuck oil rings, contaminants, & condensates are the problem, this will solve that. If there are mechanical problems, they are not the result of sitting.
They either pre-existed when parked, or happened during the re-starting after sitting.
Improper re-starts can take a toll on engines which have dried out over time. Pre-lubing & pre-cranking will prevent this. Otherwise it's dry metal on dry metal until the old oil can unsludge itself & start circulating through the engine again, could be minutes b4 that happens.

Also the oil rings, if "dirty" when set up, can sieze up. Pre-lube with Marvel,or equivalent, resolves this. So does High Heat Operating Temperature, & running a high temp T-stat, which is recommended by FoMoCo anyway.

I've started forty & fifty year old engines which sat 20/30 years using this method and have not hurt, or lost one since I began using it. I know it works from that.

Hard to know what problem you have from where I sit on it.
