This is a thank you for all the nice replies that I got for my previous post. My father was the one who saw it on the side of the road, we hooked up the laptop and went fishing for comments. I
expressed my misgivings to him straightaway. For
the record, I own a 44 Farmall H and a 47 Cub and have been extremely happy with them. I will probably recommend a Super C to my father for what he wants to do.

Tractors used in China are not anything like what we have here, or what they export to us. Most don't have transmissions but are driven by four V-type belts. It works very well, surprisingly !
You can tell the poorer farmers by the ones that have just one belt left. I'm sure they can't pull anything like what we have here, but at least you don't have to take the tractor apart to repair the transmission. The engines will keep
turning over at incredibly low rpm, like maybe 25,
without stalling. Incidently, the family passenger version is called a "san lun ma", which translates into "three legged horse".

I agree that most of the stuff that the Chinese manufacture is of lower quality than we a re used to, but they can get it right when they want to. Their DF4 diesel locomotive has very good castings
throughout and has almost chased the steamer from the rails.

As far as them being our enemy, well, let me just say this; 95% of them are just poor working slobs like you and me, they care about having a good family, a job, a roof over their heads, and a laugh now and again. Of course there are the Party members and those who let a badge go to their heads, but in eight trips there the bad has been far outweighed by the good.

If there is anyone out there also interested in railway subjects, I've love to hear from you.
