MY local show of wich I am a member from day one does not charge anyone showing to get in or for camping, if they use electricity then it is just $1 a day and that goes directly to the fair board, our insurance company says that if you have to be a member to show for insurance purposes then there is something wrong with ther insurance becauce it does not have to be that way.
Anouther club that I belonge to, show ending today, inconjuction with the Lions Club does not even have anyone at A gate, Anouther show we like will not even accept anything for electricity, our tractor club has even switched locations wher they took our raffel tractor from clubs that charge admission to exibitors to shows that do not.
We believe that without the exibitor we would not even have a show and that the profits should be made from the person that comes to look. Our Gate for visitors is $2 per person and that will not be raised as some other clubs have done,
I know of no one that can spend a hundred dollars on fule costs and speend three days hauling equipment to diplay and the spend the aditional for to get in to show and camp. We have had exibitors from at least 10 states and Canada, with exebitors comming from 1000, miles with 3 truck loads of tractors.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
