Have carried a CDL for many years, for the purpose of volunteer driving of the wheel chair capable van for the local hospital. At the time it was classified as requiring a CDL due to passenger numbers. When the Feds revamped the program a few years back, I had to write the class B test, and the passenger test to keep what I had. While I was at it, I wrote the separate air brake section, so I could drive school busses, etc. The air brake endorsement is a separate endorsement on the CDL. Passenger is a separate endorsement. Hazardous materials is a separate endorsement. Each has their own test. You can get the appropriate study materials from your secretary of state, which will cover all these items.
