Depending on the wiring of the starter button, you may need a jumper on the solenoid. If its a four terminal solenoid instead of an original three terminal solenoid, the unconnected small terminal needs a jumper to power or ground to complete the solenoid coil circuit. If I was to design the circuit, I'd supply solenoid circuit with power through the ignition switch so it couldn't be actuated with the key off. Makes is less like to run over you. Probably also has a clutch or transmission switch in the circuit to make sure you are ON the tractor with the tractor clutch disengaged or the transmission in neutral before starting. Getting run over by starting the tractor while standing alongside isn't generally considered to be healthy. Could be you forgot to wire in that switch, that you don't have the clutch or transmission set right (e.g. neutral) or that the switch is bad. Gerald
