Tim, Ive hardly owned any Fords but will give some brief tips that may help. I think that tractor has a solenoid that starts by pushing a button right????? So, my first guess is the push button starting circuit is not energizing the solenoid. I think there should be a wire from the load side of ammeter thats a hot 6 volts which goes to that push switch. Then, when its depressed, it sends voltage to the solenoid which pulls it in. First, see if there is voltage available on the high side of the push switch. Then, check to see if the small terminal on the solenoid gets hot when the push switch button is depressed. If so and solenoid doesnt pull in, it (solenoid) could be bad. I always jump a small wire from the battery terminal on starter over to the small solenoid terminal to see if that engages the solenoid. If it does but push switch doesnt, bad push switch circuit or voltage feed to it. Pushing that switch has to send voltage to the small solenoid termnal to engage it so start looking there and let us know. CAUTION, I just remembered many old Ford cars and trucks just used that push button to complete a ground circuit and it never sent voltage to the solenoid, it just furnished a path to ground for hot voltage already present at the solenoid. If thats the case (but I dont think so) you may not have a good ground on that push switch which wouldnt engage the solenoid when depressed. You ought to be able to figure out which system it is though just by looking at it or wiring diagram you mentioned. Let us know. John T
