You have a good friend, listen to him. Any stress reveals what a bated marketing idea this is. The Cummins belongs in your tractor, not your truck. As the only driver, I waited out replacements on five automatics. They burnout, disengage, leak, clunk. The drive train is not compatible:lots of engine torque with a weak automatic behind it. When you are running late, you may blow another tranny backing up quickly, braking, shifting to drive, with the wheels not at a dead stop. You go to accelerate and the RPM's climb, as the tranny comes apart. Perhaps better on highway performance, but local, backroad knockaround use is not practical. Back to Ford.
