A while ago there was kind of the opposite argument here. It was about not accepting checks as payment for a tractor, only cash. Now, I understand, a guy drives up from 3 states away & wants to pay with a personal check... I'd think twice too! :) But, as a buyer, that canceled check will give me some paper trail. What happens if I peel off 6 or 10 big bills, and the 'former' owner comes after me claiming I didn't pay, or stole it? A transaction is a 2 way street, & I'd always, always want some paper with some writing & a signature on it. Buyer or seller. --->Paul
