Hi Denise, There are so many variables. First, SAFETY. Unfamilar equipment can be very dangerous. Don't buy something and just jump on it to learn how to operate it yourself. I think it would be wise to get instructions from an experienced person. How many acres and how often will you use the tractor? How much money do you have to spend? For about 50 years my father operated a fairly large farm (cattle and Arabian hores) with nothing but a 1950 8N Ford that I still have and use. We had a plow, disc, fertilizer spreader, mower and trailer. We dragged a heavy gate behind the tractor to smooth our drive when needed. If I had money to burn, I would probably buy a front end loader, but just can't justify it now due to lack of need. Finally, since you must like horses, search for "Joramir" on Yahoo and take a look at my father's pride and joy. Good luck.
