I bought a FARMALL M because my dad bought me a brand new one back in 1951 when I was 15yr. old....I am going to make a hand clutch ,using a TA lever off a IH400...It will have to be fabricated in my shop.....A strong bracket will be clamped to the clutch pedal (i don't want to weld on it)the lever will be bolted to a bracket ,bolted to the rearend housing beside the seat...in about the same location the "TA" would be(on a TA equiped tractor--a 5/8or3/4"rod would make the commection) ....when the clutch is"enguaged" the lever would be back...no lever notch, just floating...when the clutch is "dis- enguaged"a notch will be provided at the lever base .so you can let loose of the clutch handle if need be....I must decide how to work out the locatiom of the rod connections, for clutch travel and leverage ,so you can work the clutch with ,reasonable effort....I"ll talk about how I am going to get on the tractor later....let's discuss the clutch first....Those interested can get togeather by e-mail if you think we would take up to much time here
