Nolan...Thanks! That's very helpful and confirms a lot of what I thought intuitively. Thanks to those lovely little gophers, my land does have a few dips and bumps, but not in the newly excavated/filled areas, which are pretty smooth so far. Sidehill slopes always look more than the are if actually measured, so I'm guessing that my worst slope is under 30 deg. I will measure though so I have a more accurate feel for what I've got. As an aside, I've noticed that since I bought my tractor, as I've traveled through Eastern Washington through what's called the Palouse - very fine wheat farms on beautiful rolling hills - I've found a much greater appreciation for sidehill safety than before I owned a tractor. :) Much of that country is tilled with tracked machines, so things are a bit different, but even so, some of the sidehills that I saw contour cultivated were just unbelievable. I hesitate to estimate them because I know I'd overestimate. Thanks again for your reply!
