Bacteria in Diesel Fuel?

I've read recently that Diesel fuel can be contaminated with a bacteria that feeds on the sulfur. I'm running some Diesel that is pretty old and has been stored in an above-ground tank. After 2 or 3 tankfulls (ocasional use over 3 or 4 weeks) I end up having to disassemble the tractors fuel line from the tank to the pump and clean out the screens. They become clogged with a slimy coating that eventually cuts the fuel flow. I have a spin-on type filter on the fuel storage tank so whatever I put in the tractor is filtered. It seems that this builds up or grows in the tractors fuel tank. Most of the slime is caught in the fuel tank screen and fuel pump screen. By the time the fuel gets to the primary filter/seperator it's pretty clear. The secondary filter/seperator is usually fine. Is there a treatment specifically designed to be added to the Diesel Storage tank that will help to elminate this problem? I'm getting a little tired of having to clear these screens every few weeks.
