It is kind of heavy. The owners manuel, and the
brochere I have says the 2355 mfwd open station
weighs 6878 LBS. I have all 4 tires loaded, estimated at 8400-8500 lbs. The only way to make
it better would be a 2555. I need to take out the
front tire fluid to make it lighter. My 2355 is
one of the last one's made in 1994 serial #774802
It has the 21 GPM hyd pump and TSS transmission. I have a JD tractor book by englishman Don Macmillian who states the last Mannheim 50/55 series was a 3650 serial # 775621 that went to Wales. We have a steep farm in southwest VA. One of our hay fields has 30-35 degree slopes. The 2355 is the only one that will keep our NH 848 round baler without sliding. Letting a bale out is an adventure also.
The 2355's hp is ok for our equipment, JD 820 9'-9" moco requires 35 hp, NH 848 47"x54" baler requires a minimum of 40 hp, NH 256 rake, Icam 13' tedder, 8' scraper blade, 6' bushhog, 3 16"
bottom plow, 7' disc. The Valta brochere I have
with is a 1999 "Towards the new millienum" lists
the M700 as the smallest one. Did not know they
made a M600. There is not a Valtra dealer near
here. The closest one is Beverage tractor about
200 miles from here. I have looked at cab tractors and I like the MF 4300 series as well
as any because of the close dealer 15 miles away. I like the new JD 6020 series from Mannheim, but I can't afford one.
