Some folks think of them as "stickers". They are graphics that are laid on over the paint (and sometimes under the clear-coat, if you're the Perfectionist type) that say things like the tractor name and model, warning signs, operating instructions, etc. For instance, on a Farmall, the round "sticker" on the sides of the radiator shell that say things like "Super A" or "Cultivision" are decals. Several grades are available, from "peel-n-stick" solid-background cheapies, to laser cut vinyl-backed items that blend perfectly into the background so the finished product looks like it was hand-lettered directly onto the paint. "Dry transfer" and "Wet transfer" decals used to be used too, but I'm not sure if they're still common or not. Decal design and placement varied a lot from year to year even on the same model, and entire books have been dedicated to the "Absolutely Correct" decals for some models of tractors. In the picture, the "F14" and "Farmall" on the gas tank, and the yellow sticker on the bottom of the air cleaner canister are "decals"
