If you have an older Ford you will set the selector to POSITION CONTROL for box blade work. On Massey Fergusons with a draft and a position control lever you will leave the draft lever in the full up position and use the position control lever to adjust the height of the box blade. On IH tractors with both levers you will place the draft control lever in it's lowest position and use the position control lever for positioning the box blade. Draft control on a three-pt hitch senses the force acting on the toplink and raises or lowers the lift arm transferring weight back and forth between the tractor and plow(implement) to maintain steady load. If the soil conditions are such that the plow will go deeper than desired the system will pickup on the plow transferring weight to the rear wheels of the tractor for increased traction. If the plow is having trouble penetrating the soil the system will lower the plow allowing more of its weight to aid in penetration. How you set the levers can be somewhat dependant on what model of tractor you are using. Each tractor I have had with draftcontrol has had a completely different system for setting the draft control.
