Your case sounds alot like my first experience. I bought a tractor and the guy I had lined up to get it kept saying that he was going to go get yet. The former owner started charging storage which I paid for 2 months at a dollar a day and the tractor got expensive fast considering I was going to have to pay 1.50 a loaded mile x 1500 miles because I couldn't find a truck (semi) with other tractors. In that case I finally got away long enough to drive 3000 miles in under three days to pick it up myself. To me it is just not worth taking these chances anymore or wearing out a truck trying to pick up tractors turned out not to be any bargains after all things were considered. I don't blame that man for charging storage, I understand where he was coming from, and the point of my story is that these things need to be explored and discussed so that there is no surprises or uncertainities. Say for instance you both had an agreement at the time of purchase that if it wasn't picked up in x amount of time then you are not responsible, or you charge storage to look after it or whatever. That way it hopefully will prevent your current situation, you having that tractor still and that guy paying money for storage (if that is how it turns out). I hope you guys can work it out.
