don't know about your tractor but 45 horse is sure the lower limit for a round baler. are you feilds hilly? You didn't say what kind of baler you wanted. most use belts to form the bale and yes these belts wear out and need to be replaced as a set. There are a few balers that use rollers and don't know nothin' about them excep that they make a soft core and are a little harder to unroll if you feed outside. I use a new holland 855 this is the latest version of their chain baler. high maintenence, but will start a bale anytime anywhere. I baled straw 110 degree heat behind the combine 4th gear all day long. Try that with your belt baler. Have you considered a kicker for your small squares? Is haveing the hay stored in the barn important?
