JWC - Thanks for the lite solution. I will look into this, should be easy enough. Wal-Mart has become my sole source of trailer lites given the volume of damage.

As to the IH 37 disk. Come along is a cable type. I attach the ratchet end on the rear of the frame and spool the cable out to the center of the frame and then wrap cable around the frame and hook around itself. The ratchet is then operated to lift the entire assy. I then place a short hank of chain around frame and hold in place with a binder.

This works well during transport. During actual use it is a ROYAL PITA having to get off, raise, get on, turn entire rig, get off, lower, get back on, and then run to opposite end of field. REPEAT for each pass and cross-pass. While hard work hasn't killed me yet and I enjoy working my place, here lately I really DREAD disking. Thank goodness for Daylite Savings Time!!

I must say though, it is much better than my previous all day/nite efforts with my 3pth 6' set (way to lite & to narrow).

I'm going to steal your turnbuckle idea - I could use 2 of them, one on my disk harrow and the other on the Oliver 4340 plow.

Most fields are sandy and plowed to a depth of 8". Some of the others are deep clay with standing water after a good rain. The sand is easy to work, but is hard on equipment and leaches fert. etc. real quick which adds cost to most growing operations.
