I'm sure it can be done, but I wouldn't do it. The problem is those little slivers of silicone rubber that squirt out when you tighten the assembly together. They can come loose and make REAL problems in the small passages and jets in a fuel system. You might try Permatex No. 2. It is a non hardening gasket sealer that does have enough body to substitute for a thin gasket. Follow the directions, it has worked for me on carburetors. I recently tried a competitor brand eqivalent product and did not like it, recommend Permatex. No, I don't sell the stuff, but it is a good product.
