You should have four linkage rods (or straps) hangng down under the tractor. There is a peg on each one that slips into a bracket on the mower deck. Secure them with a washer and cotter pin. I think the owners manual tells how to check to be sure it's level. After it's leveled hook up the drive belt to the engine pulley and you're ready to go. Hope this helps. Frank
