I think the idea has good merrit, but I'm not sure if it will help much? An ounce of prevention within the threads might be better than a pound of cure hidden in it's own forum...

The way it is now, a lot of good folks interject safety issues into the fabric of each thread on each forum. Then we all get our daily dose of 'think safety!' which is good.

If there is a forum only for safety, then the warnings within the threads might dwindle down. And none of us, really, are going to go out of our way to go to the safety forum to look up if the things we do are going to be safe.

Kind of like operstor's manuals. The first 5 pages are all safety warning crap - I just skip those pages, they are written for 2-year olds, way overly cautious. Those pages are there for the lawyers. Within the text of the operators manual there are little warnings & cautions. Those I see & read, and they are helpful.

I think in the long run we are all better served to have the little safety ideas pop up in all the threads, than to have an out of the way forum area where people go after the fact to discuss what already happened to them.

Having a reference page of safety issues, however, would be great. But, this opens up Kim to a host of legal issues, if someone follows a documented safety page & still gets hurt. Discussion forums are a list of opinions, while a site-sponsored page of 'hard facts' can get her in trouble.

Just my opinion, worth what you paid. :)
