BFG does make the Mud King and Sport King tires , but there is a big difference in their construction . The AT KO's have an extra ply both in the tread and sidewall , they are 5ply tread and 3ply sidewall whereas the Kings as well as most other tires are 4ply tread and 2ply sidewall . The BFG's carry more weight and are more are more stable on the road , if you are not loaded much that won't be an issue .
The size we use is 265-75R16 , the Mud Kings are only a C (6ply) rated load cap around 2450lbs the AT KO's are D (8ply) around 3040lbs . I recently put a set of Firestone Steelex AT's on with a E(10)ply they are around 3200lbs , they were $50 cheaper than the BFG's but they don't ride as good as the BFG's . I have a K3500 single wheel that pulls a trailer a lot and I need the heaviest tire available most of the time .
I have a set of 235-85-R16 Mud Kings on another truck and I don't think they wore very long , also my neighbor has the 265 MK's on a truck and they aren't wearing good and are noisy .
As far as mileage , I don't get the miles MOST PEOPLE do , I run lots of gravel roads drive too fast most of the time and am loaded a lot , 24ft gn lvstk trl and 30ft gn flatbed . I rotate 10-15,000mi , they wear even but not too long . Last set of BFG KO's 265's got 44,000 and that's the best I ever had . That's on a '94 K3500 with 175,000mi now , front end has never been lined and everything wears even , if it ain't broke don't mess with it , I think lots of this front end work and rotating etc is not needed . Proper inflation is more important than almost anything else . Just my $.02 ...
