Some other things to see are -
Bonners Ferry - grow some excellent barley and beer hops.

Sandpoint - has a DRAFT HORSE Show in early Oct. Generally 3-4 days.

Sandpoint also had/has? a real good PRCA Rodeo in Sept. The town has become very touristy but still has some charm. Lake Pend Oreille is gorgeous and if you like trolling has some fair sized blueback salmon and lake trout. They have a Kamloops festival when I don't recall.

Also over in MT Thompson Falls used to have a great rodeo over July 4th weekend. Since Dick ?? (owner) passed away not sure how it is. As Dave_ID says Flathead lake is nice.

Further south in Lewiston, ID they have a fairly good round up. Down that way they have Dwarshac sp? dam which is some rugged country like up in BC.

Okanogan, WA has a pretty good rodeo, lots of Induns participate - the suicide race is something not soon forgotten!

Most of the farming in that area I remember was around Rathdrum Prairie, Worley, Plummer, Fighting Creek ID, etc. and the Palouse country across the line in WA. Lots of wheat and oats. Don't recall seeing much old iron, HOWEVER, there are lots of old cars around especially on the reservations.

Still some of the old farmsteads but most of N. ID got bought up by S. Californians - built beautiful homes up on billy goat trails high atop mountains. They found out that Ol' Man winter is a tough neighbor and in the summer if a fire how the HE11 would you get up there to put it out? Lots of them have since moved back and rent out thier places for corporate retreats.

By the way Cowboy how is that horse logging working out?
