take the sediment bowl assembly off the bottom of the tank. Make a small cylinder of ALUMINUM screen by rolling it around a pencil. take the pencil out. fold the top of cyl. over. afix the screen over the top of the sed. bowl assy. with a small piece of wire. Now reassemble. You should end up with a cylinder of screen 3 or 4 inches long sticking up into the gas. It will not get plugged. good luck sod if there is a motorcycle shop nearby, you can get one of these filters for the top of a petcock there.
