Just how loud is the gear noise in the 9N supposed to be and still be OK? Mine is a lot louder than I'd think right, but I've never used a straight cut trans before. It's VERY noticeable. I took the cover off the top of the trans thinking the pilot in the rear of the input shaft or the input shaft bearing was bad. I figured if there was enough wear to make that kind of noise I'd be able to actually move the shafts up and down a bit, no such luck. I gave up and put it back together pending more info. Anyone in western Oregon know this sound good enough to stop by and listen?
