Ryan, In addition to reducing pre ignition spark knock pinging, the lead so called "lubricated" the valves, but that applied moreso to cushioning and padding the collission between the valves and their seats than lubricating the stems in their guides. With the lead added, the valve seats and valves last longer, so without it, assuming the tractor does not have after market hardened valve seats installed, you will need a valve job just a little sooner. However, if youre not using it under long hard heavy full loads, the valve seats and valves will still last a long long time without the additive. Fool with it (additive) if you like its your tractor, but I wouldn't worry to much without it. John T in Indiana
