Hello Tex,
Just wanted to say a few things about your post (not to condemn or condone). Are you sure that leaving the union is the way to go? I'm from Missouri and had family on both sides. If you leave the Union, let's say for example that China decides it wants Texas and sends massive troops to take it,Now what? Your soul defense lies in the Texas National Guard and your fellow Texans.
Your grit can only be compared to that of Gen. John B. Hood during the Civil War. Unfortunately, the outcome would be about the same.
As for the "Great Wall of Texas" , I'm not so sure isolation is the best policy (sometimes I think it would be too though). But when you look at China, they were a very elite and advanced people, but when they closed their borders they became a very backward people and are now just starting to catch up. You see the same thing with how the Taliban isolated their people.
Not only that, but during the first century of the "Great Wall of China" the land was invaded 3 times. It wasn't through force , the enemy simply bribed the gate keepers to let them in! It was their fellow citizens that let them in .
Which brings me to my point. How can outside yuppies invade rural Texas (or any state). Unless, there are rural people willing to sell off their farms to let them in. We have that in our community. It's called Supply and Demand.
Urbanites wouldn't demand more farm ground if there weren't farmers who were willing to supply, and vica versa!
I'm sure you're probably thinking I'm a yuppie for saying this. I'm not . I live in the country (although it's getting less and less). I use to be a Hog producer. My Uncle farmed . My grandpa farmed and I pastor a little country church.
But, our country is at war and now's the time to stick together , not go off on our own. "UNITED WE STAND,DIVIDED WE FALL"

Take care Tex,

Scott
