Blemished tires

Anyone ever purchased blemished rear tractor tires? (According to the tire dealer: if the tires are lifted out of the mold too soon, the lifting fork sometimes pokes through the sidewall.) I'm curious if the patch job that is used to fix the sidewall lasts? They offer a one year guarantee on the patch.
