i have a ford 2000, 1964 gas std non live pto 3 point hitch.they seem to have been in production 4 or 5 years with many variations.that is,3 cyl. or 4 cyl. gas or diesel.mine is a fine machine though at heart i am a case or minne moe freak.the only problem i have had was w/ the governor of which there is more than one type.my engine ran away first time i started it.caution .the engine is right turning.the bolt in the end of the crankshaft holding the gov. assembly in place is right hand thread.therefore the bolt unscrews allowing the gov. to run free on the shaft.i ordered new gov. parts prior to investigation of the problem,so i blew $100.00. any way if you have this problem use lock-tite on the thread to secure it from backing out.other usual problems can be ignition switch and the neutral start switch.
