Nathan - Yup! Had pines like that all over the place before I bought it. By the time they wanted to sell they harvested all the pine except for property lines as seen in the pic. Got about 8,000 new ones coming on - 4 yrs old to Dec 2001.

Andy - I got 4 American Bulldogs that keep dang near everything run off!! Used to have some deer stands out back but after I cleared brush etc. made it easier for dogs to roam and chase everything away. I am dog poor with more coming.

Don - Yes, ground was originally bush-hogged then turned with new ground plow. Let sit over the winter and then plowed again perpendicular to original furrows (makes for a rough ride!). After some heavy rains then disked it all with a 5' 3pth disk (Royal PITA!!) as disk was so SMALL. Finally got ground into shape that new furrows cut as pictured then disked again. Cheated to create hills as I have a cultivator with concave disks that hill up the soil. Makes great plant beds. Oh yea, bought me a bigger harrow (IH 37) with cutting width of 8' 9".

Bama Red - Thanks for the kind words and well wishes. We'll see what Mother Nature has in store. Long range forecast is another drought. If she don't work this yr. I can just plow it all under and try something else, most likely pines since I seem to have a knack for that ROW CROP! I just love smelling that fresh dirt and chuggin' along! Out here is my QUIET TIME (most of the time anyways).
