No knock on old tractors...love 'em. have 6 or 7. Especially no knock on Farmall C's...our Super C is my favorite tractor. But when you do a lot of work with a tractor, you want one that works when you want to, not after ya tinker it for a while, and no matter how good shape your oldies are, they will require lotsa tinkerin' compared to the new ones. As far as how much work they will do...at the dealership I work for (Kubota/Case Industrial, lotsa used including alot of antiques) we usually keep a 4wd B7100 around to hook to the drawbar of an 8n for demo purposes. The Kubota wins in most attempts. Most of my customers see the landscapers and contractors using compacts because they are reliable, manuverable, and easy to move, if the customer sees this and has no love for old iron, or tinkering...it's a no brainer. My Dad is a real old iron guy; JD 70, Farmall Super C, Super H, Super M, AC D10, Ford 2N, Case DC...but his choice for custom bush hogging is a new Kubota L4300, "No fuss, no muss, the job is done and I have more money to spend on the collection!"

Oh yeah...my wallet is happy that lotsa people see the value in a compact.
