Barbara........you know there really is a specialized N-Board that knows all the N-Tractor answers? (well, sometime ya can stump us) But I'll be happy to share with you this "incredable information". Your husband is right for a change. Some new camshaft gears don't fit right. As incredable as it might sound. It's rather obvious if'n yer lookin fer it. It is not something obscure that you can only find with a micrometer. Heres the deal, for some reason lately, the camshaft gear indexing marks are incorrect. (no I don't know why) Heres what you have to do. (I know its a pain) Take the cylinder head off so you can visually observe both the piston position in the cylinders and the valves. Make certain that both the #1 cylinder valves are closed by turning the camshaft, this is known as TDC. Remove the cam gear. Turn the crankshaft so that the #1 piston is TDC (top dead center) top of the block. THEN put the camshaft gear back on the camshaft so the "witness marks" don't line up and bolt everything back together. Then drill a new matching witness mark in the camgear to match the crankshaft witness. Good Luck and if you have any further questions, e-mail me or post on the N-Board........we care, Dell

To the newcomer that wants to get out and use the machine for field work, you may have already hit a major roadblock. That is the dreaded "proprietary hitch". With the exception of the
