Husqvarna builds one of the best chain saws in the industry. They use the good reputation of the chain saws to sell there lawn and garden equipment. I'm a Mechanic, I have worked on several Husqvrana lawn mowers both the Garden tractors and the articulate front mount mowers. The garden tractors are bulky and flimsy. The front axle is far to thin and often bends or breaks at the center pivot if used on rough terain. The frame is made from pressed steel and often suffers from stress cracks because it is not designed to flex. The mower deck is too thin and commonly suffers from impact with stones and protruding rocks or stumps.
The articulate front mount models are no better. The front wheels are attached to thin steel straps with half inch axles. If you hit a tree with them or drive over something big they tend to bend, and in a worst case situation the front wheels will actually V out. The cutting height adjusment is on the deck raise and lower lever. This can be very convenient but if you catch the lever on a tree or object while making a tight turn (which is common) the adjustment will never latch again (this repair costs over $100). The deck height and the deck raise and lower is controlled by thin cables that break very easily and often.
I don't have a lot of respect for husqvrarna lawn mowers and I would not reccomend them. If you want a good name brand Bolens, Toro, Troy Built, and John Deere are the best you will find.

The saga starts with the following message: Hey guys I have a decision to make. I know what you all will probably suggest and it will probably agree with me way down inside, but here it is. I have a picture blown up and framed in my "tractor room" of a Farmall M. It was my Grandpa's tractor, of which whom I never got to meet. He froze to death getting this tractor out of the barn to pull a truck out of the ditch before I was born. Anyway my dad and aunt had to sell it at the auction, ... [Read Article]
