Jed: Go to diamondfarm.com and you get the catalogue of Diamond Farm Book Store. They have a real good selection of tractor books. One that could give you a overview of the development of the tractor is Farm Tractors: A Living History by Randy Leffingwell. Lots of pictures of different brands, but enough text to explain. Most enthusiast books for any hobby are not cheap, and these books are 25 bucks and up. The smaller older older machinery is usually only covered as a sidebar to a tractor book so a lot of good brands are not covered well like New Idea and New Holland. Beware the so-called orphan brands because parts may only be available in salvage yards. Post back if anything further needed. Good Luck. Tom
