Phil, like Doug said, the t'stat could be slightly sticking. Take it completely out once and see if it makes any difference next summer. Other things are loose belt that drives water pump, still not good enough radiator (even if boiled out) and even timing set way too fast causes hotter running. Leaky head gaskets can cause it too which show up as bubbles in radiator. John T in Indiana jmn50@msn.com
