Ben, Warning, you may not want to hear this answer. Generally, the first things you suspect in overheating is clogged up radiator cores or dirt between all the fins or a stuck closed thermostat. But it sounds like thats not your situation. Unfortunately, another cause of overheating if the radiator, thermostat, water pump and its belt, are fine, is a leaky head gasket. Do you know if the head bolts were re torqued after the tractor warmed up following the overhaul ?? Do you know if the head was warped but no re machined flat like should have been done when overhauled ?? Cracks in heads or blocks can also cause overheating. Such overheating is caused by the escape of hot exhaust gasses into the coolant. I think radiator shops can test the radiator fluid with a device that detects the presence of exhaust gas. Another tip off is to look down in the radiator (with engine running) and see if a lot of air bubbles are rising up. Anyway, be sure the radiator is clean and maybe just remove the tstat to see if it still overheats. Also, be sure the water pump is turning.
