"Duo-grip" chains for the ag type tires. Similar to a single chain (I believe the single cross chain every so often are called "highway" chains and used for turf type tires)across the width of the tire except the singles are joined together with a double ring that helps keep them on top of the tread bars and keeps them from getting in-between where they are less effective. I got a set for my New Holland compact (1520)that allows me to stay in 2wd longer when plowing with my 6' back blade. One caution with the ag type chains, the rings on top of the bar treads will shake your teeth loose on hard packed snow or bare roads. Best to take it slow and try and stay off the melted spots. I also have approximately 100 lb. wheel weights on each rear wheel. I've seen several posts about back blading snow. I have used my Woods back blade for clearing my drive and found that turning the blade backwards (cutting edge turned in to the tires) and pushing the snow backwards, clears very well and doesn't dig up and push all my gravel in the grass. It is also easier on the lift arms if you hit something solid, the blade rides over most low obstructions. The New Holland has no down pressure on the 3pt so I add two 70lb tubes of sand to help keep it down. Deep snow means taking smaller bites with the blade and making multiple passes, but the little extra time is worth it. I also angle the blade to the first notch to help get the snow where I want it. The banks of snow a back blade will make are a kids dream for sled riding, it gives them a nice headstart. Looked so much fun yesterday, I had to shut down and go for a ride. Best of luck!
