When I went to work for the pea cannery, they had a 240?, and two Owatonna Royals. The royals were seldom used. They had recently bought a 600 and a 620 Hesston, then picked up another 600. They were great green pea swathers, but took a little practice to steer smoothly, with the single stick hydraulics. Backing up was really tricky, being backwards to what your brain wanted to do. Backing them astraddle of a 48' semi-trailer, on planks setting on stacked pallets, would have you break out in a full sweat. If you came close to stalling the hydraulics, they would start bucking, and the control stick would slam forward and back. Being directly between your legs, I don't think I need to say more!!
